It is very important to set goals guys. Without them we have nothing to work toward. I don’t want to sound cliche but "that which gets measured gets improved." When we have a goal that we are working to attain it drives motivation into our workout. I've seen a lot of clients quit and lose focus because they did not have a target. Rather you want to lose weight or gain weight you should pick a size that you want to wear. It is super important to be specific. Even those who want to maintain can set goals. You may want to stay between 140 and 150 pounds. Performance goals are a great way to stay on track as well. You may want to put up 310lbs on the bench press. Whatever it is please set a unique and specific goal for yourself. I've seen a lot of people put their fitness on the back-burner because they didn't have anything to strive for.

Abs Like King Leonidas
As a trainer a lot of people tell me they want a 6-pack. No problem. Just remember to do your cardio. Why cardio and not crunches you ask. The reason is because we all have 6-packs. If you can't see it when you look in the mirror then it is a matter of removing the layer of fat from over your abs. we can do all types of abs workouts to build the muscle but until we get the fat off we will not see what we want. The answer is Cardio, Cardio, and more Cardio. Once you drop to about 10% body fat you will have a cool looking 6-pack. until then lets keep burning calories.

Take A Break
No matter how much of an animal you are at the gym you need to make rest a part of your fitness program. As a trainer every once in a while I get client that loves to push to the brink. Personally I love those clients but we must remember that we need our rest at night and also we need a break from the gym every once in a while. It not only gives your body a break but it will give you a break mentally. Once you get back to the gym you will be revitalized and can hit the bricks harder then ever.
